Funny Fact
Apparently (read it on line, CBS research, in Telegraaf-paper) only 8% of all couples living together have a university degree, 41% of them are living together with someone who's also finished university. I guess the others all got married?

Whiskey coke rum or beer?
Really, really had to get out of the house for a bit, so that's exactly what I did. Pretty much ran off to Coffee Comp at 6.30pm (on my bike, so it ain't runnin' as such ;-). Stayed there until they kicked me out. Walked to supermarket for some supplies, left paying 25 euro's. Say what???
Oh wees niet bang voor mijn lul
Hij kan er niets aan doen
Dus geef hem maar een dikke zoen
Sorry, got distracted by Doe Maar, somehow I found myself singing "Oh Anita, ik kan zo van je genieteh" (Oh Anita I can enjoy you so much) on my bike, going back home. Could be coz F. called me and invited me over yez, for a party in the Nieuwe (=New) Anita, which I cancelled coz there had been a book explosion at my place.
Al is het soms een stijve pik
Hij is net zo lief als ik
Wees niet bang voor mijn lul
Gosh I had totally forgotten about that song. By the by, this is Doe Maar's first album, recorded back in (gasp!) 1979. The days before Henny Vrienten. I can remember how excited I was when I finally found this cd - actually, I think my first bf found it in Utrecht and bought it on my v. polite demand.
It's such a happy cd, how could I have forgotten this one? I guess having this NEW cd-system (very, very, VERY good idea, Latte Guy's!) makes it all the easier to find whatever music I've got.
Anyways, getting out of the house, walking about v. proud of my new coat (feeling tres much more feminine because of it), getting sushi (yum!) and all, combined with this cd, topping it all off, yay, I'm happy, me happy!
Bye loves.
En ze hebben me laten staan
Nu heb ik alleen nog maar ikke
En de rest kan naar de maan
Haha, this is NOT how I feel right about now :-) And I did not have to do it alone, I had great, awesome help. Very very very cool help it was. Right. I'm off babes! Leaving you with a thought for the day: listen to Doe Maar's first! Hurray!
time - 8.03pm
mood - singing, doe maar-ish
about to kick kitty cat though, coz he's truly whining for ever more food ;-)

Grey, grey, grey
Why is it so dark out? Haven't seen a ray of light all day, and it affects my mood. According to my Asic Half Marathon running schedule, I should go for a run - 65 minutes HR 164. BUT IT'S DEPRESSINGLY DARK OUT.
Also, my place is still a pigsty, and it's almost half 3 (3.18pm) and I'd like to.. and, and, and!
And I had such a great time with Latte Guy - buying THREE big bookshelves for me (cupboards) and three cd thingy's. Put them together together, without a sigh or a grumpy looks. Obviously he had to stay the night, to do the 3rd one in the morning. *happy smile*

Shut it!
It’s 8.17am and ever since I got at the office at 7.45am, I’ve been listening to stories of colleagues sitting in the compartment next to me. They’re discussing people’s driving behaviour. And it’s boring. And I wish they would just shut up.
RAAAAAAAAAAAGH!
Right. At least I’m v. happy with my new shirt, hurray! :-)

Yawn
Hello, goodmorning, won't you tell me your name? (Slightly altered lyrics.) It's 8.18am, been at work for a short while (at the office). Gosh, how I long for a VACATION. Er, yeah, the lusty longing has been satisfied, hence the new desire, *grin*. Naah, still lusty though, when it's good, it surely does feel like more.
Latte Guy'll be off to our neighbouring countries, just got back from the States. Work, no play (on the other hand... thinking cabrio's here... just kidding). I’d like to go off for a weekend too. The invite I’ve got, is the retirement party my dad’s throwing. Ugh.
Nina’s been so kind to offer to come along – if I rent a car. So we can practise our driving skills. If I pay for the car though, she ain’t touching the wheel! LOL. So I wonder, coz the party itself probably won’t be worthwhile, and I don’t want to drag her along unless the trip there itself will be great fun.
8.30 already. Wearing my new coat today, yay. No one to show it off to, bugger. Right. Change shirt (always have to hurry in the morning, hence the fresh clean shirt once I’ve cooled down). Also new. Hmmm… Lunch? “Hi!” Yeah, right.
Is it weekend yet?
I’ve got SO incredibly much to do, I’d better get started. Bye loves. Feel free to drop a line, whenever, wherever.
time 8.32am
mood – okay (if not sleepy and longing for some REAL coffee)
har har, loads of longing these days *another grin*

Oh babe babe
When will I stop feeling h#rny? When I turn 40? Haha. Okay. Slightly exaggerating here. But darn, I miss that certain look you see on a guy's face when he really likes you. (Really, as in: on more than one level.) Those arms that don't want anything but to pull you right in them. Endless kisses... Hmmmm.... Yeah. Dream on. I guess even if you do have a bf, you don't get any on command either? Can't really remember ;-) I love the smell of a man, when he's just a tiny bit sweaty. Yum.
Darn. J. sent me this really uplifting e-mail (raaagh! Not! ;-) saying "There must be a queue forming outside your apartment right?" Stop making fun of me! Darn! Made me laugh though :-)
Felt D's hand in mine at the gym. But he's REALLY enjoying the gals' attention in that place. It's not something special or anything (surprised me a bit anyways). One of the girls pretty much hugged him, and I almost topped over laughing, while on the tredmill (ah ya know, the running thing). I was really enjoying the whole theatre. He's only a few years younger than me, but seeing this I felt like his old sis laughing approvingly at her young bro's circus act, attracting all the babes. That must sound really bad, especially considering the hand moment, *chuckle*.
Funny, Norah sings: "waiting for you to come home and turn me on". What's there to be turned on?
Didn't get to see Eye Candy today. It's good to have Eye Candy around ('kijkexemplaartje'). It makes the day that tiny bit more worthwile. (Definition of Eye Candy, IMO: someone who's pleasant to look at, not necessarily someone you've ever talked to or wish you could talk to. Someone you should not like too much, coz then he's no longer Eye Candy, but A Crush, and crushes come with heart aches, yikes!) Used to have one even when madly in love with my first bf. Gosh, did I like that bf. Love having had a time like that, always a good feeling looking back on it. Hope he feels the same.
Yada yada... Tomorrow meeting up with my tax man (nothing on the dark side, trustworthy office and all). Have to look for my stuff. Latte Guy's back in town though. A bit distracting. Felt like sending a message: "come and make love". But I left a VM or two yez, so ain't gonna go there. Still, ya know. A couple of arms and probably more within half an hour reach. Well, not for real, obviously, otherwise I definitely would NOT be sitting behind my lurrrvely iBook. Starting to look around, as I've not been seeing so much of Latte Guy these weeks (months?). "Anyone else out there? Haven't been paying that much attention lately... Hi, what's your number?" Nah, haven't been tempted to ask for cells so far.
Tax.
Guy.
Tomorrow.
Start gathering all the necessary info, woman!
("Get me some socks, woman!" The one guy understanding this oneliner doesn't read this blog. Funny, flying to NYC to go and stay at this friend's place I met... yup, Latte Guy.)

Short note
Just wrote a short post about not gettin' any, but it might come out all wrong (I was being pragmatic or smthng), so I deleted the whole thing. Am still around, done loads (Eurosonic! Great time in G.!!), had mum staying over for a week, just had a beer with prevSig and gone out for dinner (my treat) with P.
My period finally started this afternoon (so why the H have I got the whole cramps thing NOW?), so that's good. No boob explosion involved. Wouldn't want to miss either of them. Cat's lying on my belly, pain relief haha.
Ugh, I need a lover. Can I pick someone? Anyone? Now let's see...

Yada Yada
Actually, I only felt like crying physically, not coz I was feeling bad or anything. Anyways, never got to cry, never saw my boobs explode, nor did my period start. Well, well, well. It'll undoubtedly start at a most inconvenient moment of time. Like during the interview later today (not a job i).
Yez I had this lusty feeling pretty much all day long. Still felt that way once I crawled in bed. So helped myself. Not like I could tap a guy next to me on his shoulder and ask him to do it, right?
Lots of shite at work, looking for stuff, takes so much time, so many other things I wanna do instead. Oh, well. NM.
IMO, I should be waking up in a hostel bed right now :-) Hmmmm.... Yeah... Wake up slowly... Make some coffee.... Pour myself a cup... Find a hammock... Yeah... Life's good!

Too many work things, too many plans, too little sleep. Obligatory movie tonight. Breath babe. One step at a time!
PS Bumped into D. a few minutes ago - a guy I've worked out with (at the gym, indeed), twice so far, he's gonna go tonight so I can tag along, yeah! (He knows exactly what exercises one should do, v. cool.)
Right. Breath. Swallow. Start. Easy does it.

Dinner plans?
Last night Latte Guy gave me a call - did I have plans, would I like to come over for dinner?
I had plans, so I said no. Wonder if he'll repeat the invite today. It feels like he's light years away.
Been at work since 8,45 am, broke a personal record with the amount of pages I translated so far! So I'm going back to work. If I keep this up, I might not only have the eve off, but tomorrow as well...

Rent-a-Friend
Or better yet: rent a friend w/car. Loved the movie (title: see subject), guess it's not for real. Hence the following Q for peeps living in NL (or in my town): anyone rented a car lately? Reasonably priced??
Feb 4 my dad throws a retirement party (the guy's -lemme think- 56! Gosh, if I could quit work at 56...). This event will take place in some shithole village I've heard about yet not have had the previous "pleasure" to visit, somewhere in the northern east area of our beloved Frog Country.
The young old guy surprised me: he enclosed a handwritten note, saying "if you're coming, feel free to bring a vriend (male friend) or vriendin (lady friend." (In Dutch there are two words, v. handy.)
I'm 32. Er, no, I'm 31, going on 32. I like the sound of 32, *grin*. Anyways. Wouldn't it be nice if I not had to travel up north to catch a ride with bro or sis down east (south east of where they're living). Wouldn't it be nice if I could drive there myself (like if I dare, ha!) and not be dependent and not having to stay the night, unless I choose to? I think Tigrra said it's Paul Anka: "Dreams... Dreams-dreams-dreams-dreams, dreaaaaaaaaa-eaaams."
Well, someone else sang: "dreams can come true", so go figure.
Why do I feel like I was supposed to write about the sea disaster in Asia? I'm not trying to ignore it here, honest.
(Huh? Placebo covered "daddy cool"? -> Radio.)
time 12.28pm
mood - geez, wanted to joke "drowning" coz of my I.M.POSSIBLE deadline. That is such bad timing. Ouch, sorry. Rewind!!!
mood - busy, preoccupied, looking forward to Eurosonic (like a mini break with friend C! Gonna go and dance, right Voicst?)

Feathers up your butt
Who cares it might tickle, as long as it tickles the right spot. Talking matter of speech here, obviously. Just got this e-mail today that makes me SMILE.
"Wasn't sure if K. had sent you this pic also...I must say I look awfully cute in this one...of course, you're looking mighty fine as usual.... Hope your New Years was good...any resolutions?"
Yeah, I can dig a compliment like that, haha. Especially if and when written, without someone sitting opposite you, waiting for your reply/reaction ;-)
My resolutions... I've got THREE, and they're goals within reach. Buckle up, coz none of them involves LOVE.
1. change my pigsty into its original identity: study
2. change jobs (boohoo, gotto leave the family -> IMO a very unhealthy thing to even think!)
3. run a 5k run close to 20 min, not 25 like last year
Well, I'll keep you posted. As ever. Ciao babes. BTW, enjoying 2005 so far? If you don't like the new start, just wait until feb to make it a real blast. Year of the Rooster will start approx Feb 8! Feel free to comment if you're sure of the exact date.

Let's go out
Sitting behind my laptop, still wearing the pj's I put on friday night (yikes), I find my eyes wandering towards the windows. Absorbing the lovely weather out there. It's a clear sky, with a hint of sun. It's so nice, I wish I could go out for a walk. Into town, for coffee. I could go you know. Work tonight. I realise that. But I'll just continue now. And maybe go to the office tomorrow, swap days, have thursday off. Wanna get this translation over with. Also wanna go out and play! Get some fresh air... I could think of a few people I'd have this afternoon coffee with. With LG, with Nina (what on earth are you doing abroad, love? ;-), with me (I'm lucky, I find my own company agrees with me, haha). And there are others, but I'd need more free space on my harddisk for anyone else. Hence the following: action!
Right. Back to work now, love.

Gran gives birth (plus NYE)
Weird story, lucky couple though. Read it in Telegraaf and later on in Washington Post. A lady aged 55, mother of a 29 year old daughter, gave birth to her daughter's three children: two boys and a girl, after a 33-week pregnancy, on Tuesday Dec 28. Some new year's gift!
Been working today, still got some to do, but managed 18 pages so far. Very well, very good...
How did you enjoy NYE? Mine was weird :-) We got to celebrate... behind central station. I joked: "Where are our customers?" Two boys/one girl I didn't know, boy J, girl M, and girls A and I, plus me. And a bottle of champagne. When the clock hit twelve, I was lucky to find myself close to J., so there was nothing awkward like hanging around watching couples oogling all over each other. J and I kissed each other wishing the other a "happy new year!" and after that we kissed the others (my tongue was not once involved in all this action, LOL). Five minutes into 2005 we boarded the ferry. Unknown drunk friend hollered a new year's wish to the guy sailing the thing. I waved frantically at the man, to catch his attention. When he saw us, we shouted "happy new year!" He hunked for half a minute in response. Meanwhile fireworks were painting the sky all around us. Cool!
Not so cool was the hour walk to our destination. Fireworks up in the air are cool, walks in soft nights are cool, fireworks on the ground definitely not! I think me and A's friend I. kind of felt like running back to the ferry, but we proceeded anyways. Once we got past the folks firing their month's pay away, it was okay, and I got to relax again. Only to start worrying whether or not there would be this party ferry of Awakenings - where was it? We hadn't seen it while we were waiting at the dock for a way to cross the water. Was this party ferry a fairy or...
We got to "Straw Boat", which was fun, it could have been a blast if I had not been a party pooper - it was past one and my work started creepin' back on my mind more ferociously by the minute. I couldn't push it away. Friend A. was real sweet, after she bought us all a beer, she walked to this huge Awakenings party with me, to get some info on the whole party ferry bit. We had heard so many different stories, I hardly believed it when we walked to the spot where it would come, and there were a few people waiting for a ferry, convinced it was supposed to run all night, every 45 minutes, and they had been waiting for half an hour, so it was about to show up... Then this curly haired guy biked towards us, put his bike away, sat down. He seemed so confident the boat would show up, I kissed A goodbye and thanked her for accompanying me.
I joined the Curly Guy, turned out to be real nice. On the boat the others (with whom I had not spoken anymore), disappeared inside to enjoy that terrible trance music. Curly Guy and me stayed outside, to enjoy the weather and view and a nice chat about his eve, mine, his work, mine. No wonder we weren't able to find this party ferry on the way up, it didn't run from central station, it sailed all the way from and to the PTA. Lovely boat trip, perhaps even the best bit of the night!
My bike obviously was not around, and unlike Jolly Jumper he definitely would not be able to come pick me up after I whistled using my fingers. Curly Guy checked his tyre, and offered me a ride - thanks, thanks, thanks! I hopped off under the bridge, he looked at my bike and said he really liked it (not in a gooey way, in a "i would love to have that bike"-way). Anyways, I was glad we got to bike even past the H.Square together. I'm not too much of a fan of fireworks, and it was (too typical a Dutch word to translate ;-) "gezellig".
At the crossing I bade him farewell (i.e. I said goodbye, I just love the poetic way of saying it) and wished him a pleasant stay in Berlin. Nice end of a lovely day. A day I got to translate 15 pages, had a surprise afternoon coffee break with Latte Guy (came with an unexpected dessert, yum!), a run for "oliebollen" (they closed at 7pm, I got there a few minutes after, got them though!), and a coffee with A and her friend I (I keep saying "friend I" coz otherwise it seems like "I" as in "me"), including Berlin pics, and home made Tiramisu! And the whole NYE extension, for which I'm really grateful. So thanks Latte Guy, A and I, and Curly Guy, for making the last day of 2004 a memorable one!
For all of you I wish a great, awesome 2005. I hope you'll all have peace of mind and beloved ones near (and close...) to you.
PS Nina, I was wearing your shirt during all this, hon! Missing you! -> now that's gooey ;-)
